Path Of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0 Performance Issues And Boring Endgame | Why Are Players So Frustrated?

Path Of Exile 2 Patch 0.3.0 introduced a lot of new things, and many players tried to play it, but they were disappointed to find that the game had problems such as poor performance and boring Endgame during the game.

Path of Exile 2's recently launched Act 4 has been incredibly exciting for players, with many new gameplay features garnering praise. For demolition enthusiasts in particular, Path of Exile 2's early endgame maps are a true paradise.

The game's new trading system is also quite appealing, allowing players to create powerful builds through various combinations to complete some endgame maps. However, while players are immersed in the game, they've also discovered a number of unsatisfactory issues.

Poor Performance And Frequent Lag

Path of Exile 2's endgame is determined by completing Atlas. Players unlock maps, earning rewards such as POE 2 currency and gradually leveling up. These maps have modifiers that change their difficulty as you progress. As players progress through the maps, the modifiers accumulate, inevitably leading to a decline in performance.

Perhaps due to issues with the game's mechanics, driver issues, or something else entirely, Path of Exile 2's performance after Update 0.3.0 has been significantly worse than in previous leagues.

There are also frequent stuttering issues during gameplay, though a stutter at the end of a game loop is considered a relatively minor issue. For players in the middle of a fierce battle, sudden stuttering, a return to the desktop, or even a black screen can be enough to drive them crazy.

Especially during boss fights that require powerful explosive attacks, such as the new Benedictus boss in Act 4, frequent stuttering can waste players' previous efforts and force them to pause their progress. This is a problem that wears down both patience and energy.

The Endgame Loop Is Also Unsatisfactory

In terms of gameplay content, Path of Exile 2's endgame loop is also somewhat lackluster. Some people will enjoy the gameplay of exploring and upgrading equipment while progressing through the map, which suits their preferred gameplay style, but for others, it can be a real pain.

Complex Crafting System

Path of Exile 2 0.3.0 introduces a completely revamped crafting system, where many crucial end-game equipment upgrades are made. However, this system is overly complex, requiring pre-collection of Omens, desecration, fracturing, and other operations, making it extremely unfriendly for beginners.

Perhaps, as players become familiar with the game and acquire sufficient powerful equipment, this crafting system will become popular. However, in the early stages, for players without powerful equipment and unfamiliar with the crafting system, the game is too difficult.

Therefore, it is recommended that the game's developers increase the chance of loot drops to foster player confidence and interest. After all, Path of Exile 2 is an ARPG centered around currency items.

Poor Tower Gameplay

The exploration gameplay in the first few endgame maps of Path of Exile 2 is also unsatisfactory.

Towers, a crucial feature that connects to more map areas and helps players plan their routes, are exhausting to find. This problem is exacerbated in the Tier 15 map areas. It's reasonable to suspect that the game developers deliberately set the encounter rate to be extremely low to prevent players from receiving rich loot rewards.

Endless Grinding Of Pinnacle Bosses

Furthermore, the endgame loop becomes boring because of the endless grinding required before defeating Pinnacle bosses. While the goal is to become stronger and defeat them, the process is excruciating, requiring players to spend countless hours repeating the same gameplay before finally reaching the true boss.

Choosing a new build for the endgame loop and trying out different builds and skill combinations is certainly fun. However, this type of gameplay has been explored numerous times by players since Path of Exile 2's launch, and it's no longer as fresh.

After this campaign rework, the developers still hoped this gameplay mechanic would attract players, but the effect has naturally declined significantly. This type of gameplay no longer provides players with much enjoyment.

I hope the developers can address the game's issues, improve its shortcomings, and listen to player feedback to make Path of Exile 2 even better.
