There are currently two trials in the game. Trial of the Sekhemas is the trial that players encounter in Act 2. This trial is very difficult, so players should understand its mechanics in advance.

What Are The Mechanics Of Trial Of Sekhemas In Path Of Exile 2?

Honour

When you enter Trial of the Sekhemas, you will have an additional attribute, Honour. In short, Honour is like another health bar for you. When you are hit by monsters or encounter traps in the trial, you will lose a little honor. However, unlike the health bar, Honour cannot be restored by flasks. You can only restore Honour in Fountain rooms.

The value of Honour is basically the sum of your maximum health plus your energy shield value. When your Honour is completely emptied, you have failed the trial.

Sacred Water

Sacred Water is a special POE 2 currency in Trial of the Sekhemas that disappears when you leave the Trial. They are light blue drops that automatically go into your inventory when you approach them.

You can trade Sacred Water with merchants for relics, favors, or to restore Honour. You can trade Sacred Water for Keth Forge keys after defeating a boss.

Keys

There are three types of keys in Trial of the Sekhemas: Bronze Key, Silver Key, and Gold Key. You can get keys from monsters and bosses, or from treasure chests in various rooms. You can also trade them with Keth Forge.

Keys are used to open respective caches at the end of the Trial. These respective caches can contain equipment, jewellery, and currency items similar to POE 2 Exalted Orb.

Boon

Boons are divided into major boons and minor boons. They can provide you with various buffs, such as reducing monster damage, restoring Honour, disabling traps, etc. A good favor can be a big help in a Trial.

Affliction

Afflictions are divided into major and minor afflictions. Afflictions are essentially debuffs. Afflictions can make your Trial more difficult. There are many types of Afflictions, which can weaken your defense, greatly increase trap damage, and prevent you from getting Boon.

Pledges

You can make Pledges to Kochai the Inscrutablel at the Shrine. Kochai will let you choose one of three Pledges. These Pledges can be good or bad. These Pledges can give you Boon, but at the cost of a large amount of Honour. Or they can give you both Affliction and Boon.

Traps

There are 11 traps in the Trial. Affected by a trap, you will lose both health and Honour. Most traps can be avoided by you as long as you move fast enough.

The above is a brief introduction to Trial of the Sekhemas. I hope it can be helpful to players participating in the trial.
